The CBA was delighted to host a special Christmas lecture from Mr. Seán Moynihan, CEO of ALONE, on the topic of ‘Housing Issues for Older People: No Room at the Inn?’, chaired by our co-founder the Honourable Mr. Justice Mark Sanfey during his first week of sitting as a High Court Judge. Proceeds of over €900 from the event will go to fund ALONE’s vital work in supporting older people nationwide. ALONE was founded in 1977 by Dublin firefighter Willie Bermingham, who was shocked by the conditions in which older people in Dublin city were living. The Construction Bar Association is proud to support its great work.
ALONE has a network of 2,000 volunteers throughout Ireland who support its work by befriending, visiting and giving practical help to older people. To meet the needs of our population in the next ten years, it will need 7,000.
