Fair Valuation of Variations and Contractual Quantum Meruit – John M E Lyden, FSCSI, FCInstCES, MRIN, MCIArb, MEWI

Members are reminded that the third Technical Talk of the 2015/2016 legal year will take place held at 4.30pm Tuesday, 19th January 2016, in The Dublin Dispute Resolution Centre, Distillery Building, Church Street, Dublin 7.

John M E Lyden, FSCSI, FCInstCES, MRIN, MCIArb, MEWI will present his paper on the topic of “Fair Valuation of Variations and Contractual Quantum Meruit.

As the well chosen title indicates, the paper will address relevant issues in Irish construction law and dispute resolution including a consideration of the contractual provisions applicable to the valuation of variations, claims in quantum meruit and the application of “fair valuation” in practice. As these issues form the lines of contest in many construction disputes we are confident that the paper will be of significant relevance and interest to Members.

(Our esteemed but prudent Treasurer has indicated the availability of hot caffeinated beverages and biscuits ( …it is January and a Tuesday after all… ).
